Padenghe Castle
Padenghe Castle, the oldest in Valtenesi, dominates Lake Garda from the top of a hill. Built around the year 1000 for defensive purposes, it has undergone several transformations over the centuries, also becoming an important centre of jurisdiction. Its walls enclose the small town centre, with stone houses, cobblestone alleyways and characteristic low arched doors and windows. The main tower, more than twenty metres high, offers a breathtaking view of Lake Garda and the Sirmione peninsula.

Padenghe sul Garda boasts a rich religious and architectural heritage. The parish church of Sant\'Emiliano, dating from medieval times, stands near the castle and is a fine example of religious architecture.
